CHURCH WIDE FAST

Sunday, January 12th to Tuesday, January 14th

We’re inviting YOU to be part of something bigger. Join us for a church-wide time of fasting and prayer as we press pause on distractions, grow in faith, and seek God’s direction together as a community.

This is a moment to align our hearts with God, hear His voice clearly, and pray boldly for the future of our church, including the launch of our additional service on Launch Sunday.

Fasting is a powerful way to reset, refocus, and deepen your connection with God. Whether this is your first fast or part of your rhythm, you’re invited to come as you are and be part of this collective movement of faith.

Let’s do this together. Let’s believe for something incredible. God’s just getting started!

FAQs

Fasting and prayer are powerful ways to seek God together as a church family. Below are answers to common questions to help you prepare for this meaningful time of connection and spiritual growth.

1. What if I fail during the fast?
First, take a deep breath and remember that fasting is about the heart, not perfection. If you break your fast or feel like you’ve “failed,” don’t beat yourself up. God’s grace is abundant, and He sees your desire to draw closer to Him. Simply reset, refocus, and continue. The journey is about seeking Him, not checking off a box. Even small steps of faith matter in God’s eyes.

2. Do I have to fast from food?
Traditionally, fasting involves giving up food to experience the physical reminder of hunger and dependence on God. However, we know that fasting from food may not be possible for everyone due to health or dietary restrictions. If that’s you, consider fasting from something else significant, like social media, entertainment, or a daily habit. The key is to create space for prayer and connection with God.

3. What happens when I feel hungry or distracted during the fast?
Let those moments redirect your attention to God. Pause and pray, read Scripture, or speak truth over your situation. Here’s a simple prayer to use:
“Jesus, You are my Bread of Life. Help me rely on You in this moment. Fill me with Your strength and guide my heart closer to You.”

4. Can I drink water or other liquids during the fast?
Yes! Staying hydrated is important. Many people drink water, herbal teas, or broths during their fast. If you’re fasting in another way, this can look different based on your personal commitment.

5. What if I’ve never fasted before?
Fasting can feel intimidating if it’s new to you, but it doesn’t have to be! Start small—maybe skip one meal, fast for part of the day, or choose something other than food to give up. The focus is on intentionally setting aside distractions to connect with God.

6. What should I pray for during the fast?
Our Fasting Guide includes daily Scriptures and prayer points to guide you.  Please click the button above.

Key themes include:

  • Personal renewal and revival

  • Healing and unity in your family

  • Boldness and vision for our church

  • Transformation in our community and beyond

Use this time to listen to God and pray for what’s on your heart.

7. Is this fast for everyone?
Yes! No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, fasting is an opportunity to take a step closer to God. Adapt your fast to fit your health and current life season—it’s about your heart, not how much you do.

8. What time will we break the fast?
We will break the fast together during our Hope Partner Night at 6 PM at the church with a special time of communion. This is a moment to reflect on what God has done and celebrate His faithfulness. If you did not fast, you are still encouraged to join us! This is a time for everyone to come together as a church family.
