The Power of an Easter Invitation: Statistics and Insights

Easter is one of the most important holidays to celebrate as the Church and Christians. It is a time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ! Many churches in Gilbert, AZ and around the world use this holiday as an opportunity to invite friends, strangers, and family to attend their services. But why is Easter the best time to invite someone to church?

Let's take a look at some statistics:

  • According to a study by LifeWay Research, 96% of Americans celebrate Easter in some way. This means that people are already in the mindset of celebrating the holiday, which makes it easier to invite them to church.

  • In addition, 63% of Americans say they would attend church if someone they knew invited them. This means that simply extending an invitation can have a significant impact.

  • Easter Sunday is one of the highest attended church services of the year. According to a survey by the National Retail Federation, 53% of Americans plan to attend church on Easter Sunday. This provides an opportunity for newcomers to experience the energy and excitement of a full church service, which can be very compelling.

The benefits of inviting someone to church on Easter Sunday go beyond just attendance numbers. The message of Easter is one of hope and redemption, which can be very powerful for those who may be going through difficult times. As it says in Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This message can resonate with people who may be searching for meaning or struggling with their faith.

Easter is a wonderful time to invite someone to church in Gilbert, AZ or anywhere else. The high attendance rates, positive message, and potential for relationship building make it an ideal opportunity. As it says in Matthew 28:6, "He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." Here's what you can do now:

  1. Pray: Before extending an invitation, take time to pray and ask God to guide you in your interactions with others. Pray for the person you want to invite, that their heart would be open to hearing the message of Easter.

  2. Make a personal connection: Whether it's a friend, family member, or stranger, it's important to make a personal connection before extending an invitation. This can be as simple as asking how their week has been or sharing something you've been struggling with. Making a personal connection can help build trust and make the invitation more meaningful.

  3. Extend the invitation: Once you've made a personal connection, it's time to extend the invitation. Be clear about the time and location of the service and let them know what to expect. You can also offer to meet them there or sit with them during the service. Remember we have changed the service times for Easter and added another service: 9am and 10:45am.

  4. Follow up: After extending the invitation, make sure to follow up with the person. Ask if they have any questions or concerns and offer to answer them. You can also check in with them after the service to see how it went and if they enjoyed it.

  5. Continue the conversation: If the person attends the service, continue the conversation with them afterwards. Ask what they thought of the service and if they have any questions. You can also invite them to attend future services or events at the church.

Inviting someone to church on Easter Sunday can be a meaningful and impactful way to share the message of hope and redemption with those around us. By praying, making a personal connection, extending the invitation, following up, and continuing the conversation, we can help others experience the joy of Easter and the hope of Christ's resurrection. As it says in Romans 10:14, "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" Let us be the ones who preach the message of Easter and invite others to experience the joy of Christ's resurrection.
